During this session participants will experience an alternative way of introducing tenses to young learners, an approach that moves away from the traditional method proposed by ESL books.

Πόσο καλά γνωρίζουμε τους μαθητές μας και τον τρόπο που μαθαίνουν; Πόσο σημαντικό είναι να λάβουμε υπόψιν μας μία τέτοια πληροφορία όταν σχεδιάζουμε το μάθημα μας σύμφωνα με την διαφοροποιημένη διδασκαλία;
Κι είναι εξίσου σημαντικό να ξέρει κι ο καθηγητής το δικό του μαθησιακό στυλ, το οποίο αναπόφευκτα γίνεται και το στυλ που διδάσκει, και που δεν ταιριάζει σε όλα τα παιδιά;

We want our students to succeed. But how can we set them up for success? In this session we’ll focus on 7 practical strategies to motivate our students and help them become passionate learners of English.
Gamification is the application of game-design elements and principles in non-game contexts. Organisations from hospitals, governments and corporations are all utilising gamification to motivate users and engage employees and customers. Game-enhanced learning can also be utilised in education with great benefits. Not only can it help improve student motivation and knowledge gain, but also provide learners with an opportunity to develop cognitive, social and emotional skills.
Young learners need to become literate in a foreign language for them to start making serious progress. For this crucial stage to happen, learners of English need to be motivated to engage with the language. Drawing on CLIL to make language learning a journey of discovery, interest and fun can be instrumental in keeping motivation high and providing the opportunity for language acquisition to occur naturally and in a meaningful way. Add to this a gentle, guided, introduction
to the technical aspects of language and you have the perfect combination for success.
Through this presentation I will share ideas and activities on how to integrate technology, how to use the internet in the teaching process. Games, comics, electronic posters, stories, interactive activities, blogs, instant electronic polls, online discussion rooms and other online teaching tools can be a stimulating way to help pupils of any age, learn English, learn grammar and vocabulary in a more stimulating way.
Why is CM so hard? Do we need more planning? Does it all have to do with the tasks we choose? How can we develop response-ability? More questions (along with some practical tips) during the talk.
