SEMINAR PROGRAMME
Saturday 11 March 2023
Being the main objective of the educational system in Cyprus, the improvement of learning outcomes can be attained through a teaching-learning process that is interactive. Interaction is the key to the construction of a sociological learning context that gives voice to students’ perspectives and ideas. Such a context can be built while going through the stages of the lesson via approaches that motivate students to actively engage in the process and learn.
Getting students to collaborate is not always easy, and in these days of remote learning, the challenges are even greater. In this workshop we will discuss what collaboration skills are and explore why our students need them. We will also look at ways in which we can develop learners’ collaboration skills and how this in turn will develop their language skills.
Flipped learning is an innovative and effective pedagogical approach for the modern EFL classroom, as it creates numerous opportunities for active engagement. Under the guidance of their teachers, students take ownership of their learning and gain a deeper, more experiential understanding of the language. This session will explore the flipped model as an opportunity to enjoy creative and productive class time, while accomplishing solid learning outcomes.
Grab your coffee and join us for a short, sweet and super hands-on session on how to make storytelling part of your curriculum and engage your students in productive, creative language output.
#English is an exciting course for A-C classes with engaging, fun content, designed to motivate students, promote inclusivity and meet the new, emerging educational needs. #English offers an effective combination of print and digital resources, allowing for flexible teaching (in-class, blended or flipped learning), enhancing student autonomy and boosting the development of real-life skills
This presentation discusses the impact that the workshop “Experiencing the Child with Learning Difficulties” has had on therapists and teachers working with children with barriers to learning. It highlights the importance of bringing a greater empathy and level of rapport to the teaching and therapy process by exploring the emotional frustrations, anxieties and self-depreciating thoughts experienced by the child who struggles.
The seminar emphasises on the importance of using storytelling in language classrooms. Teachers will be able to help students elevate their intrinsic motivation by raising class participation levels through actively engaging all learners.
“I am eclectic” is a very popular claim among EFL teachers these days. What is being eclectic? What does it involve? As we go on a journey through the history of ELT methodology, this presentation will address these questions and allow teachers to reflect on their favourite teaching methods and favourite fruits.
In this interactive talk Adrian explores what communicative teaching means in the 21st century. Based on Adrian’s 30+ years working in ELT he includes a focus on areas like teaching grammar, critical thinking and learning-centred teaching.
